The Unreal Editor for Fortnite gains support for LEGO assets. Fortnite players will therefore be able to develop LEGO islands for Fortnite themselves. LEGO has also published four templates for experimenting.
According to LEGO, the assets will also come to Fortnite Creative. The company writes in a press release that all published LEGO islands will have to meet the age rating PEGI 7+. In the United States this is the ESBR rating E10+. The islands must also comply with Epic Games policies regarding parental controls and safety. Users who have published their LEGO islands and are also part of the Fortnite Island Creator program can get payouts for their creations.
Lego has also introduced three new islands to Fortnite: LEGO Prop Hunt, LEGO Battle Arena and LEGO Cat Island Adventure. These games were created with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite tools. Earlier this year, LEGO released several island games for Fortnite, including LEGO Raft Survival and Lego Obby Fun. The LEGO Group and Epic Games entered into a partnership in 2022. The two companies say they want to work together on 'a child-friendly metaverse'.
