OpenAI wants to release GPT-5 in mid-2024. Business Insider writes this based on anonymous sources. The next version of the AI language model is said to deliver noticeably better results. According to another source, OpenAI is currently still training GPT-5.
Business Insider's editors said they were able to speak to two anonymous sources who had more information about GPT-5. Those sources claim that GPT-5 will arrive in mid-2024, probably in the summer. One of the sources also believes that the language model will provide noticeably better results and that GPT-5 will be able to connect with other AI tools from OpenAI.
According to another source, GPT-5 is currently still in a training phase. Once this is over, the language model should be tested further. This is done by OpenAI employees and external parties. The source believes that OpenAI does not yet have a concrete release date for GPT-5 in mind. OpenAI's current model, GPT-4, was announced last March.
