Telenet establishes subsidiary Blossom for installation of charging stations

Telenet announces Blossom, a subsidiary that will install and activate home charging stations for company employees from April 1. The Belgian telecom provider says that self-employed people and private individuals will also be eligible for the service at a later date.

Blossom works with Scoptvision, Optimile and Unit-T, among others, and starts installing home charging stations for Telenets own electric cars. A deal has also already been signed with the main shareholder, BNP Paribas Fortis, to do the same. According to Telenet, the subsidiary wants to offer a 'total solution', including installing charging stations and, through partners, tailoring charging sessions to solar power and dynamic energy rates.

The company initially focuses on fleets of large companies, with employees can be connected to the charging station network after a digital onboarding. The provider is also talking about a joint portal and an app for the fleet manager, although it is not clear to what extent this construction provides insight into the charging and driving behavior of individual employees. It is not known when private individuals will be eligible for Blossom products.
