It was in SVT's comedy program “Immigrants for Swedes” that Elaf Ali said the following about women who fled Ukraine:

– Many who came from Ukraine had to stay. … They are fair-haired, so they blend in. It is perhaps most noticeable… maybe… in the brothels.

The statement has caused fierce criticism, including from the Ukrainian embassy. However, SVT has explained that no action is being taken against the feature as it is “covered by Swedish freedom of expression”.

In a post on X, Elaf Ali responds to the critics:

“Hey you dishonest people and hypocritical people who pretend to care about women. You are 'angry' at a description of reality, in a comedy show, but not that it happens – or at the men who buy sex? Absolutely. Hope you feel better after you puke your disgusting racism,” she writes.
