Acer made a profit of 143 million euros and sees monitor and PC sales picking up

Acer achieved a turnover of just over seven billion euros in 2023 with a net profit of 143 million euros. According to the company, the market for both PCs and monitors is now picking up again. Acer expects AI to become important to the company in the future.

Acer achieved a turnover of 241 billion New Taiwan dollars in the 2023 financial year, equivalent to approximately 7.09 billion euros. Gross profit in that year amounted to 749 million euros and net profit was 143 million euros.

Acer sees that sales of monitors, laptops and computers are 'back on the right track'. These divisions are profitable again and respond to seasonal fluctuations, without adversely affecting the stocks held. Sales of laptops and monitors have been declining for a long time, not only at Acer, but also at most hardware manufacturers. In the future, Acer says it sees great potential 'in the business opportunities that artificial intelligence offers'. Generative AI will become 'a megatrend in 2024' for the company, but the company does not say how it wants to respond to this. The company may want to release new hardware specifically aimed at such tasks, but it does not provide any information about this.
