Apple Maps receives support for cycling routes in Belgium

Apple Maps has added support for cycling routes in Belgium. MacRumors noted this on Tuesday. The feature was already available in some other countries. The feature does not yet work in the Netherlands.

Apple has not yet officially communicated this update for its Maps service, but MacRumors was the first to note that Belgium recently received support for bicycle navigation, in addition to Austria and Sweden. Apple has a list of countries where cycling routes are supported, but the three new countries have not yet been added at the time of writing.

Cycling routes were first added to Apple Maps in iOS 14. The function provides cyclists with specific navigation routes with cycle paths. Obstacles such as steep slopes and stairs are marked. The feature was already available in certain European countries and cities, as well as in China, Japan, the United States and certain parts of Canada.
