The politicians and the cocaine

  • Jimmie Åkesson: Reasonable to drug test the entire Riksdag

– This is what in business is usually called “corporate bullshit”. Just hollow empty words, says Jeanette Fors-Andrée, crisis manager and media advisor, to Aftonbladet.

According to the laws that the Riksdag itself has adopted, politicians and civil servants in the Riksdag are exempt from the possibility of mandatory drug tests as employers in the private sector have the opportunity to introduce – and there will be no change to that matter.

On the other hand, there is the opportunity to introduce voluntary tests. Voters then have the opportunity to decide for themselves whether they want to vote for politicians who refuse to take a voluntary drug test. But there will be no talk of any voluntary tests either, which is criticized by experts.

– If 99 out of 100 people at a workplace voluntarily get tested, it will be a fairly clear statistic, says drug expert David Lindström to Aftonbladet .

SD leader Jimmie Åkesson said shortly after the revelation to Sveriges Radio that it would be reasonable to drug test the entire Riksdag. However, the party does not pursue that issue today and has apparently changed its mind.

The Social Democrats, the Sweden Democrats and the Liberals have announced that they do not want to comment on their position in Aftonbladet.
