The article was written by Tove Lifvendahl and was published on Wednesday by SvD.
The editorial is about pro-Palestinian demonstrations and the attention-grabbing image from Gothenburg of a man in a Hamas uniform.
Bilan Osman, who is a veteran of the far-left Expo and has been a communicator for the Muslim study association Ibn Rushd for some time, is also mentioned. Tove Lifvendahl claims that Bilan Osman “attacked” Expressen's Sofie Löwenmark, who took the photograph of the man.
That the article – which has the title “Terrorist supporters and their apologists” – was illustrated with a picture of Bilan Osman has has been criticized on social media.
Anders Lindberg, political editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet, says on X to SvD's deputy leader Peter Wennblad to be “ashamed” of the choice of image.
Wennblad, however, only replies that the image placement “is evident from the text”.
“We write in a newspaper for literate people”, he continues.
Bilan Osman states today that the criticism led to the image being replaced – with “a MORE clear picture of me”.
After all the criticism, @SvD and @SvDledare have chosen to update the text with a MORE clear picture of me? pic.twitter.com/giI4zJmyoz
