Multiple Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Messenger, appear to have been affected by an outage worldwide. Users appear to be automatically logged out of these platforms and can no longer log in. The cause of the problem is not yet known.
Tens of thousands of users from all over the world report via AlleStoringen that Facebook, Instagram and Messenger are not reachable. WhatsApp does not appear to be affected by the outage. For the time being, official channels of the companies in question have not reported anything about the disruptions on, for example, X, the former Twitter. Meta's official status page shows some service disruptions, but that website is also difficult to reach.
Update, 7 p.m.: In the meantime, all Meta platforms appear to be functioning again. The company's status page states in almost all categories that Meta is solving malfunctions. Hardly any new reports of possible malfunctions are made on AlleStoringen.
