Foreign. British oligarch and globalist Lord Jacob Rothschild has died aged 87, the family said.

Jacob Rothschild has been a face for the wealthy Rothschild banking family, which leads a more hidden existence today.

Aside from banking, he was involved in so-called philanthropy and a leading representative of Britain's Jews, reports the Daily Mail.

The family writes in a statement:

“Our father Jacob was a rock in many people's lives, an exceptionally accomplished financier, a champion of arts and culture, a dedicated public servant, a passionate supporter of charitable causes in Israel and Jewish culture, an ardent environmentalist and much-loved friend, father and grandfather.”

His connections with fellow oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky and his oil deals in Israeli-occupied territory on the Golan Heights have caused controversy.

Jacob Rothschild has previously recounted appreciatively how his great-uncle Lord Walter Rothschild persuaded the then British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour to promise “a national home for the Jewish people established in Palestine”. It is about the so-called Balfour Declaration through which Great Britain helped the Rothschild family to establish a Jewish national home in Palestine which became the state of Israel.

– I genuinely believe that this was one of the most extraordinary events in the Jewish people's history, Lord Rothschild said of the declaration.

As a prominent member of the influential Rothschild family, Jacob Rothschild has been accused of being involved in various global conspiracies and manipulating the world economy for his own gain. So-called conspiracy theorists claim that the Rothschild family has used its financial influence to control political decisions and profit from wars and other global events. These claims have contributed to the negative image of Jacob Rothschild as a globalist shadow figure who acted behind the scenes.

Jacob Rothschild will be buried according to Jewish custom “in a small family ceremony”, according to the family.
