Corsair comes with two cases in its 2500 series. Both cases feature a dual-chamber design and can accommodate micro-ATX motherboards. The housings both have a recommended retail price from 149.90 euros.
Corsair comes with a 2500X and a 2500D housing in this new series. The former has glass panels on the front and side. The 2500D case focuses on airflow and therefore has a mesh front panel. The 2500D also has room for two 140mm fans at the front, while the 2500X lacks that space. Both housings appear otherwise identical. They have the same dimensions of 479x304x376mm and support both mini-ITX and micro-ATX motherboards.
The two cases both have a dual-chamber design, with the motherboard and hardware on the left side of the case. On the right side, in a separate compartment, are the power supply, storage drives and space for cable management. The enclosures can accommodate two 2.5″ drives and two 3.5″ HDDs, in addition to power supplies with a maximum length of 225mm. In addition, the cabinets support video cards of up to 400mm in length and CPU coolers with a height of up to 180mm.
The cases are further compatible with ASUS's BTF products and MSI's Project Zero series. In those series, these companies release motherboards with connectors on the back, so that no power cables have to be placed visibly on the motherboard. That helps with cable management.
Corsair further introduces the case with optional wooden accents, which are available separately. There will also be a kit available that allows users to mount their graphics card vertically, additional optional cable management kits, and separate glass panels that allow 2500D owners to convert their case into a 2500X. The mesh panels of the 2500D do not appear to be available separately. The Corsair 2500X and 2500D will both cost 149.90 euros. An RGB version of the 2500X will also be available, which comes with RGB fans and costs 219.90 euros.
Corsair is also introducing larger dual-chamber housings, which will be available in the 6500 series. The 6500X and 6500D will be available for 209.90 euros, while an RGB version of the 6500X will cost 289.90 euros. Tweakers published a review of the Corsair 6500X on Tuesday.
