Foreign. An Arab who was previously an informant for Israel's intelligence service Mossad is denied Swedish citizenship, writes Sydsvenskan. The provision has previously been used to deny citizenship to people connected to the KGB.

In the decision, the Migration Agency states, among other things, that Israel's intelligence service commits “serious violations of human rights , including arbitrary detentions, disproportionate use of force, torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.”
Anyone who has been active in such an organization cannot become a Swedish citizen during their first 25 years in Sweden, according to a government decision from September 2, 2004.
The Arab applicant has been living in Sweden for some years now and describes himself as an “honorable citizen”.
In an interview with Sydsvenskan, the official who made the decision why the man is denied Swedish citizenship.
– Of course, Israel does not consider this to be a correct assessment. But the Migration Agency is an independent authority and I feel safe with the decision and it can be appealed, the official tells the newspaper.
The Migration Agency's decision has been examined by the Migration Court.
