The survey shows that 22 percent save less now compared to before six months ago. Seven percent state that they did not save either then or now.

– It is worrying that many have reduced their savings. What is particularly worrying is that the percentage who state that they do not have enough money to be able to handle unforeseen expenses has increased. Every fourth person states that they do not have a sufficient buffer, says Linda Hasselvik, SBAB's private and housing economist, in a dispatch.
However, how much you save differs greatly. Every fifth respondent states that they saved less than SEK 500 last month. At the same time, nearly half state that they saved more than SEK 2,000 last month. That savings differ greatly also becomes clear when the respondents are asked to estimate how much money they have deposited in bank accounts. 9 percent state that they have over a million saved in bank accounts. At the same time, 13 percent state that they have less than SEK 25,000.
