It was in 2021 that the British government was forced to re-nationalise the train service as previously was “managed” by Go-Ahead, which led to thousands of canceled trains and extensive delays.
Now the company may take over the subway traffic in Stockholm, Region Stockholm has decided.
In 2016 alone, the company entered 60,000 departures after conflicts with the staff and poor maintenance of the railway network.
– The business was taken away from them due to incompetence when it comes to railway operations, says Oxford researcher Oliver Lewis to SVT.
The operation of Stockholm's subway is one of the world's largest public procurements, worth around SEK 40 billion.
