Foreign. When Hungary and its Prime Minister Viktor Orbán now stand alone without having approved Sweden's application to NATO, the United States in a sharp tone declares its dissatisfaction with the Hungarian government.

Joe Biden's Budapest ambassador David Pressman tells the Financial Times that Orban's foreign policy is based on fantasies that “harm NATO and advance the interests of the Kremlin”.

– The policy leads to Hungary becoming increasingly isolated from its partners within NATO and the EU, Pressman tells the Financial Times.

That Hungary has not approved Sweden's NATO application, that the country does not want to support the war in Ukraine and that Viktor Orbáns has met with Russian President Vladimir Putin are some things that the US are dissatisfied with.
