– Hello everyone, wonderful to be in space, a fantastic ride, said Marcus Wandt on the first contact with Earth.
< p>He described the acceleration and speed as “pure joy”.
For two weeks, Marcus Wandt and the rest of the crew will now carry out around 30 different experiments, two of which are Swedish. One is about how stem cells are affected by microgravity, in the short and long term, and the other is about how we humans are affected by staying in cramped spaces for an extended period of time.
– Getting to see the earth from above and to feel that Sweden chose to place itself far ahead in development again is fantastic. I am so incredibly proud, said Wandt when he got on board and hugged all the astronauts who were already in place at the space station.
Together with Marcus Wandt on Axiom Mission 3 (AX-3) is Walter Villadei (Italy). , Alper Gezeravci (Turkey) and Commander Michael Lopéz-Alegría (USA).
