We are talking about a new version of the Multistrada created without any technical compromise and equipped with the Desmosedici Stradale engine derived from the Panigale V4.

The motorbike will be available in dealerships from January 2024 and will be built in a limited series. How much does it cost in Italy? The list price is of 37,490 euros.

EXCLUSIVE

For this model, Ducati has adopted technical choices used in racing, typical of its super sports bikes. The name RS has exactly this meaning, recalling another motorcycle from Ducati history, the Monster S4 RS, born according to the same principles. Ducati Multistrada V4 RS can count on several components made of carbon fiber such as the front mudguard, the hand guards, the heat shield and the “beak”. front.

The technopolymer tail integrates the passenger handles, while the seat support frame made of titanium has saved 2.5 kg of weight. On the steering plate we also find the aluminum plate where the the progressive number of the model is shown.

The new Ducati Multistrada V4 RS has a aluminium monocoque framedifferent from that of the Multistrada V4 S and Rally to obtain a different steering head inclination (we have 25.75° compared to 24.5°). The bike also adopts 17-inch Marchesini forged rims, more 2.7 kg lighter than those of the V4 S, which have Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres, in sizes 120/70 front and 190/55 rear.

Speaking of the chassis, the bike can count on Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension to guarantee the best performance in sports use thanks to the use of an “event based” system, as on the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S, which is self-adjusts based on the driver's driving style.

The braking system derives closely from that of the Panigale V4. At the front we find 330 mm diameter discs and Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, while at the rear a single 265 mm diameter disc on which a Brembo floating caliper works. The system is managed by the Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME Cornering ABS system.

DESMOSEDICI ROAD ENGINE

The beating heart of this motorbike, as mentioned at the beginning, is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine which is been optimized to improve delivery at low rpm. We also find an Akrapovi silencer as standard created specifically for this model.

In this configuration (Euro 5+ approval), the Desmosedici Stradale engine develops a maximum power of 180 HP (132 kW)and 118 Nm of torque, with a limiter at 13,500 rpm. Furthermore, we also have the STM-EVO SBK dry clutch made from billet aluminium, with a specific configuration of springs and slipper ramps. The maintenance interval for checking valve clearance on the Multistrada V4 RS is expected every 30,000 km.

To improve the thermal comfort of the engine, the Desmosedici Stradale is was designed to deactivate the rear bank when the motorcycle is stationary, in neutral and with the engine temperature above 70°. Always to offer greater comfort, on the busiest days. When cold, the upwashes, the ducts that bring fresh air to the rider's legs, can be closed.

Obviously, the new Ducati Multistrada V4 RS can also count on a lot of electronics. The company explains:

The electronic equipment of the Multistrada V4 RS, thanks to the information obtained from the Bosch inertial platform, is composed of 4 Power Modes (Full, High, Medium, Low), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up& ;Down. All these systems have been calibrated for the characteristics and intended use of the model and integrated into four Riding Modes, namely Race, Sport, Touring, Urban.

The motorbike also has one 6.5-inch TFT screen for the instrumentation which is characterized by dedicated graphics. The digital dashboard allows you to view the map navigator thanks to Ducati Connect, which allows you to mirror your mobile device. Precisely to support this functionality, the smartphone compartment has a forced ventilation system, to cool the phone during intensive use of the navigation functions and during charging.
