IM LS6, the new electric SUV from SAIC and Alibaba debuts in China

IM Motors is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, Zhangiang Hi-Tech and Alibaba, created to launch electric models on the market. The Chinese car manufacturer founded in 2020 has brought the new IM LS6 SUV to the market. This is the third model from IM Motors. This new car is offered in four different versions with prices ranging between 229,900 and 291,900 yuan(29,820 euros and 37,870 euros). However, until November 12, the car manufacturer is offering a discount of 12,000 yuan on the list price (1,560 euros).

DIMENSIONS AND ENGINES

IM LS6 measure4,904mm long x 1,988mm wide x 1,669mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. A lot of work is was done to optimize the most aerodynamics possible to make the car more efficient. As mentioned at the beginning, the new IM LS6 SUV is offered in multiple different versions. The first has a single electric motor located on the rear axle with 231 kW and 450 Nm which allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The unit is powered by a battery with a capacity of of 71 kWh which allows an autonomy of 560 km according to the CLTC cycle. The second, however, offers a more powerful engine. powerful with 250 kW and 450 Nm powered by a 90 kWh battery which allows a range of 680 km but always according to the CLTC cycle. From 0 to 100 km/h it always takes 5.9 seconds. The first two models have a speed maximum of 200 km/h.


Moving up a level, the third version offers a 379 kW (500 Nm) engine and 100 kWh battery for a range of 760 km (CLTC). From 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and 220 km/h speed maximum. At the top of the range we find a model with dual motors and all-wheel drive. Overall, there are 579 kW and 800 Nm available. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, while the speed maximum is of 252 km/h. Thanks to the 100 kWh battery, the range reaches 702 km (CLTC).

The driving assistance systems can rely on a platform based on the NVIDIA Orin chip.
