Nissan Ariya Vs Volkswagen ID.4, electric SUVs compared: engines and prices

SUVs/crossovers are very strong and the market is moving more and more towards this segment. Looking at the electric market, Nissan offers Ariya, a model that we already have got to try. Volkswagen, on the other hand, offers the ID.4 on the market which recently received an important update that has improved technology and performance.

DIMENSIONS AND DESIGN

Nissan Ariya measures 4,595 mm long x 2,172 mm wide (including mirrors) x 1,660 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. The ability of the trunk is of 468 liters which drops to 415 liters in the version with double electric motor. Volkswagen ID.4, on the other hand, measures4,584mm long x 2,108mm wide (including mirrors) x 1,634mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,771mm. There are 543 liters of space available for luggage.

Therefore, the two models have similar dimensions. The German SUV, however, can count on greater capacity of the trunk. Nissan Ariya is based on the CMF-EV platformalso used on the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. The Japanese car is characterized by a personal design, underlined by the almost coupé and from the front with thin LED lights.

Volkswagen ID.4, however, is based on the MEB platformon which several models of the German Group were born. The SUV is characterized by massive shapes and a look that adopts the design philosophy that we also find on the other models in the ID range.

INTERIOR

The model from the Japanese manufacturer offers interiors with a minimalist look, with few physical controls. As regards the Volkswagen ID.4, the Italian price lists of the models updated have not yet been communicated. In any case, Volkswagen has made it known that there should be no price increases. We remind you that the pre-update versions start from 56,700 euros for the Pro up to 63,700 euros for the GTX.

INCENTIVES YES OR NO?

Are the Nissan Ariya and Volkswagen ID.4 compatible with state incentives? Unfortunately no, their base price is not compatible with the Ecobonus.

We remind you that the incentive for electric vehicles provides a contribution of 3,000 euros without scrapping or 5,000 euros with scrapping of an old model. To be able to return, electric cars must not cost more than of 35,000 euros plus VAT, i.e. 42,700 euros.
