A few weeks ago the Zeekr 001 FR debuted in China, a very high performance version of the electric Zeekr 001 that the car manufacturer started to also market in the countries of the Old Continent where it is entry and which we already have got to try. At the time of the presentation, nothing was said about a possible arrival in Europe. On this topic, there is now some interesting news. Apparently, the Chinese manufacturer of the Geely Group is considering whether to offer the Zeekr 001 FR on the Old Continent market.
The news comes from Automotive News Europe who had the opportunity to speak with Alessandro MassiminoHead of Product and Connectivity of Zeekr Europe who confirmed that the sports car could arrive in Europe. At the moment, the company is evaluating various things including the cost of homologating the car given that it is radically different from the “standard” 001, the possible sales price and production volumes.
No timescales have been shared for a possible decision and therefore all that remains is to wait to understand if this sports car will arrive truly on the European market.
FOUR ELECTRIC MOTORS 
On paper, the Zeekr 001 FR is a very interesting model from a technical point of view. The new Zeekr OS 5.0 software platform debuted on the sports car and will soon be launched. also offered on other models. The powertrain has 4 electric motors which allow it to reach 930 kW/1,265 HPwith 1,280 Nm of maximum torque. Performance, therefore very high. In fact, we are talking about an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.36 seconds, which drops to 2.07 seconds if measured as Tesla does, i.e. including a rolling start, i.e. with the car already in slow motion. The speed maximum, however, is "limited" at 280 km/h.
The powertrain is powered by a 100 kWh Qilin battery from CATL which can be recharged at very high power thanks to the platform that supports an 800 V architecture. In China, 99 will be produced per month. The official price is not has not yet been declared but it should be around one million Yuan, i.e. just under 130 thousand euros.
There are, however, also other new features. in addition to the Zeekr 001 FR. In fact, Massimino said that the company is also evaluating whether to make available in Europe the variant of the 001 with a 140 kWh battery which offers a range of over 1,000 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. The 100 kWh model, in Europe, offers a range of 620 km according to the WLTP cycle.
