The Authority The Competition and Market Guarantor has started an investigation against Vueling: the Spanish low-cost airline is accused of not adequately informing users about the different price policies implemented on hand baggage depending on whether you access it from the web or from the app.
If you choose the basic rate, the baggage by hand can be purchased as an extrawhen you buy the ticket or even later before checking in online. However, it is impossible to know the exact price of the additional service, as it varies depending on certain factors. Among these, as mentioned, the service purchase channel: adding hand luggage from the web or from the app has different prices.
NO INFORMATION 
Vueling does not provide sufficient informationon this aspect, nor in the section of the site where the rates of additional services are described né at the time of payment: the user who makes the purchase of hand luggage finds indicated only the amount to be paid at that moment (from the web or from the app) and the amount due if one opts for the adding hand luggage directly at the airport.
Hand luggage represents an item on which airlines tend not (to want?) to provide complete information: in addition to the Vueling case currently under investigation, we also remember the resolution voted in the European Parliament on the need for to define a common standard for hand luggage dimensions: behind this uncertainty hidden costs are often found.
The AGCM is also investigating any customer profiling during the booking phase, as well as that the purchase price of the ticket is differentiated:
These behaviors, in the opinion of the Authority, could provide incomplete, non-transparent and omissive information on the modalities of price definitions linked to the purchase of the baggage transport service differentiated between web and app as well as based on the use of different devices.
