E-GAP is a service that offers on-demand charging for electric cars in 4 countries – Italy, France, Spain and Germany – and in 13 cities – Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Brescia, Verona, Trento, Paris, Lyon, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich and Berlin. We have talked about this service several times. Now comes some interesting news. In fact, E-GAP is state integrated into the FIAT applicationto offer owners of an electric 500 (also an electric Abarth) the possibility of to be able to access the on-demand charging service if necessary.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
VAN equipped with a mobile charging infrastructure reaches the vehicle, wherever it is parked, to start charging. All this what is needed is the E-GAP app, which can be connected to the FIAT app via the “account connection” function. Once logged in, the customer will have to simply register your vehicle by entering its data and authorizing E-GAP to geolocate the vehicle and charge it autonomously.
At that point, it will be enough select the address, program the charging time window and the desired charging level and pay for the service. You will come then be advised that it is a charging session has been scheduled directly on the FIAT app, where you will have to authorize E-GAP to access the vehicle in the selected time window. The VAN with the charging infrastructure arrives within 90 minutes of the customer's request and, once the vehicle has been located, recharges without moving the car from its parking lot.
For Fiat customers it is an offer has also been launched which allows you to recharge at a rate of 0.50 euros per kWh. The special offer is already active in Italy in the cities covered by E-GAP and will be soon also available in Germany and Spain.
