A couple of days ago, Stellantis had offered some previews on the future of the Melfi plant, announcing that 5 new models belonging to the brands are arriving DS, Jeep, Lancia and Opel. The first to be produced will be, as mentioned, an electric DS model. Now, the French car manufacturer wanted to provide a few more small details.
In 2024, it will arrive. the 100% electric version of the DS 4. However, it will not be a battery-powered variant of the current model. In fact, the new car will have of a new design and, above all, will rest on the new STLA Medium platform. The new DS4 will have of a battery with a capacity up to 98 kWh and can offer an autonomy of over 700 km according to the WLTP cycle. This model is being finalized in France and will be produced, starting from the last quarter of 2024, in the Melfi plant in Italy.

Inside this factory, in 2025, it will be then a further electric model of DS was built, again on the STLA Medium platform for which, however, there is no precise information at the moment.
These new models are part of the electrification strategy of the French brand. Already in fact, since 2019, the entire range has been entirely electrified. Thanks to the 100% electric DS 3 E-TENSE together with DS 4 E-TENSE, DS 7 E-TENSE and DS 7 E-TENSE and DS 9 E-TENSE plug-in hybrid from 225 to 360 horsepower, all DS models are offered with electrified powertrains, accounting for nearly 50 percent of European sales volume in the first half of the year. of 2023.
