BYD Dolphin, the Commemorative Edition debuts in China

BYD Dolphin is an electric that recently debuted in some European countries including Italy. This model, in reality, was launched in China in August 2021. At the front, the Chinese brand has slightly revised the grille and introduced a smaller splitter. pronounced. Behind, however, we can see the introduction of a spoiler. Inside the passenger compartment we always find digital instrumentation with a 5-inch screen and an infotainment system with a 12.8-inch display.


On this model, however, there are seats covered in imitation leather. The Commemorative Edition logo is printed on the headrests to remind us that this is a special version. Even if the look is been made more gritty, no changes have been introduced to the mechanics.

This version of the BYD Dolphin is offered with a 70 kW or 130 kW powertrain. The first configuration has a speed maximum speed of 150 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of 10.9 seconds. The second, however, reaches 160 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The Blade battery with LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) type cells allows for a range of just over 400 km.

On the safety front, the car is equipped with five external cameras and five ultrasonic radars which are used to operate the driver assistance systems. For the moment, we don't know if BYD plans to bring the Commemorative Edition to Europe too.
