The time for the restyling of the BMW 4 Series is approaching. The German manufacturer is working on the development of the facelift, an update which will concern the theCoupé, Cabrio, Gran Coupé and M4. The electric BMW i4 will also be affected by the restyling. Speaking precisely of the battery-powered model, a forklift is was intercepted on the road during a test session.
The spy photosthey show a car with camouflage concentrated on the front and rear, the areas where the main innovations will arrive. However, we can note that the car featured in the shots has the M Sport package.
The films try to hide the changes to the design but from what we can tell observe, there will only be detailed changes. BMW seems to have touched up the front and rear bumpers, as well as having introduced new headlights that appear to have a new light signature. It will also reach the rear new graphics for the light clusters. With the restyling, therefore, will come just a refinement to the look of the BMW i4. New colors and alloy wheels with a new design could also be made available, as often happens with the arrival of facelifts.
As regards the interior, however, there should be no particular innovations. given that already the current model features the BMW Curved Display. It is possible that a software update will arrive for the infotainment system and new coverings could be proposed.
The restyling could also bring some adjustments to the chassis and set-up to improve driving dynamics. There are no particular indications regarding the powertrains but no news is expected. The current engines should be confirmed. However, some small interventions could arrive to improve efficiency and therefore autonomy.
Let us remember that, today, electric is offered in the BMW i4 eDrive35, BMW i4 eDrive40 and BMW i4 M50 versions with power between 210 kW (286 HP) and 400 kW (544 HP). The restyling should be announced during 2024. Therefore, there are still several months to find out more.
