Stellantis takes a further step in its electrification plan, inaugurating its first Battery Technology Center which is was built within the industrial complex of Mirafiori, Turin. This new structure required an investment of 40 million euros and will take care of to test and develop the battery packs for the electric vehicles that we will find within the new models of the Stellantis Group brands.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE BATTERIES
Within this new structure, explains the Group, over 100 technicians will work, most of whom are specialized Stellantis workers. These individuals will conduct and supervise climate stress testing, life cycle testing, software development and calibration for battery management systems (BMS), and disassembly of packs and cells for analysis and benchmarking. 8203;

THE NEW CENTER
How is it the new Battery Technology Center structured? Stellantis explains that the structure extends over an area of 8,000 square meters, distributed over three levels. The heart of the center is consisting of 32 climatic chambers, 24 walk-in chambers for battery pack tests and 8 chambers for carrying out cell tests. Inside the 24 walk-in rooms there is It is possible to control the environmental conditions by adjusting humidity; and temperature in a range between -40 and 60 degrees Celsiuswith a maximum variation of 20 degrees per minute.
