Lotus presented the new Emeya which it defines as a ;Electric Hyper-GT. This model, which we have talked about several times in the past thanks to a series of spy photos, shares the platform with the Eletre electric SUV. The car will be produced in China starting from 2024. Prices for this new model have not yet been communicated.
DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE
For the moment, Lotus has not shared all the details of the Emeya. More information on the new electric Hyper-GT will be shared during the fourth quarter of 2023. The design of the new car has some points of contact with that of the Eletre, especially at the front. However, in this case, thanks to the coupé shapes, Lotus was able to take care of much more aerodynamics.
A lot of work, in fact, is been carried out in this sector. Lotus highlights that its new electric car can count on a series of active elementsthat allow you to maximize the load or efficiency.
At the front, it is There is an active grille and an active spoiler. The active front grille reduces aerodynamic drag and increases the efficiency of the car when it is closed and cools the batteries and braking system when it is open.
The active front spoiler helps increase downforce at high speeds, improving handling and stability. Behind, however, there is an active diffuser and spoiler. In particular, the 280 mm wide double-layer rear wing is capable of generating a load that can reach 215 kg.
The passenger compartmentIt has a setup very similar to that of the electric SUV. Therefore, we find a large central display for the infotainment system and a thin horizontal screen for the instruments. There's even a head-up display. The passenger compartment maintains a 4-seater layout, just like the SUV and sustainable materials have been used for the upholstery. The car also offers a KEF audio system with Dolby Atmos 3D Surround Sound.
As for the powertrain, Lotus says that on the new Emeya we find a double engine capable of delivering a total of 675 kW (918 HP)and 985 Nm of torque. For this new model, Lotus declares aspeed maximum speed of 256 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds.
Everything is powered by a battery which has a capacity of of 102 kWh. The manufacturer did not want to communicate data on autonomy, stating only that it is similar to that of the Eletre, therefore, approximately 600 km according to the WLTP cycle. Speaking of charging, by connecting the car to a 350 kW HPC column, it is It is possible to recover up to 150 km of autonomy in 5 minutes and reach 80% charge in 18 minutes.
New Lotus Emeya also features electronically controlled suspension, capable of analyzing the road ahead 1,000 times per second and advanced driver assistance systems.
