Renault is continuing the development of its new Renault 5 electric car. Recently, we saw a series of spy photos showing a still camouflaged forklift carrying out road tests. The French car manufacturer wanted to tell some further small details of the new model, highlighting that the prototypes used for the tests are built within the Prototype Build Centre which, as the name suggests, is it is a production center that deals exclusively with creating the prototypes of the new models.
PROTOTYPES OF THE RENAULT 5 
The goal of this small establishment is; that of reproducing the production process, creating prototypes faithful to future production models to validate the industrial assembly process. We recall that, in the end, the Renault 5 will be; produced within the factory in Douai, in the north of France.
The first prototypes of the new electric were built in October 2021. At the time, however, they had shapes similar to those of the Clio. These forklifts were then tested in Lapland, especially as part of the development and testing of the new 100% electric CMF-B EV platform.
Currently, however, the so-called &ldquo ;vehicle check” which faithfully reflect the future series model in terms of design. Obviously, for the tests these cars are then disguised to then travel the roads of all of Europe with the aim of validating the latest details of the development.
Curiosity, Renault says that access to the Prototype Build Center is free. reserved only for employees with appropriate authorization. Cell phones are prohibited inside. In addition to telling something more; of this stage of development of the new electric, the French brand has shared some new teaser images of the car.
Finally, we would like to remind you that the future Renault 5 will have a of a motor equipped with synchronous wound rotor technology, the same used on the units; of the new Megane E-Tech Electric. The vehicle will adopt also a new battery pack featuring a new layout consisting of 4 large modules. The new electric will support the bidirectional charging as well. The debut is; expected in 2024.
