Now, there is important news about semiconductors and the automotive world. In fact, Stellantis and Foxconn have announced the creation of the SiliconAuto joint venture which will take care of the of the design and sale of semiconductors.
LET'S START IN 2026
More; specifically, SiliconAuto starting in 2026will produce chips tailored for the vehicle platforms of the latest generation of automotive industry. The 50/50 joint venture will take care of the to meet the needs – of Stellantis, Foxconn and other customers.
The joint venture combines the capabilities of development capabilities and Foxconn’s expertise in the ICT sector with Stellantis’ worldwide.
The semiconductors that SiliconAuto will develop; and will sell to the automotive sector will be specifically designed for the operation of the numerous computer-controlled modules and functions, which are particularly important in electric vehicles. In particular, Stellantis will use them in the future. also for STLA Brain, the new electrical/electronic architecture and software that will be able to; be updated via OTA.
The joint venture will have its headquarters in the Netherlands. Management is; made up of executives from both companies.
