Max Verstappen won the Monaco GP ahead of Fernando Alonso. Said thus; there doesn't seem to be anything strange. Yet, this time the race is over. was less predictable than usual due to the rain that began to fall towards the end of the race and which unleashed chaos on the track. Despite a “chaotic” final part of the GP, the Dutch rider and Red Bull once again demonstrated their superiority. Nothing to do for the opponents, not even for an excellent Fernando Alonsowho tried in every possible way to keep up with the Dutch driver's pace, confirming, however, that behind Red Bull there's a team of riders. the Aston Martin, at least the one driven by Alonso.
Before the rain, Verstappen dominated his opponents. Even with the slick averages, the Dutch driver is able to do well. he remained on the track until lap 55 without ever changing tyres. All while keeping Alonso at arm's length who, instead, had mounted the tough ones. And when is it? when the rain came, Verstappen and Red Bull proved to be an impregnable pairing. Despite having to slow down, the Dutch rider waited a few laps to understand how the average conditions were evolving, then going on to mount the indispensable intermediates.

Verstappen then put on a show, showing perfect driving control even in these complex track conditions. However, there were some "smudges" which led the car to touch the walls of the circuit with the wheels, but the single-seater was never affected by this, demonstrating great reliability. At the moment most critic of the race, Aston Martin tried to risk a different strategy by having Alonso mount the medium slicks when everyone was opting for the intermediates.
Third place for Esteban Ocon, with the #39;Alpine. Good fourth place for Hamilton, while George Russell finished in fifth position. Ferrari aimed to be the protagonist of the Monaco GP but, on the other hand, was not able to compete. never been really competitive. Sixth place for Charles Leclerc with a gap of more than a minute from the first speaks volumes of the technical gap and how much there is still work to do.
With this victory, Max Verstappen extends the standings and makes a further step forward towards conquering the World Championship.
