On the night of August 2, 2020, a so-called drive-by shooting occurred at a McDonalds restaurant in Norsborg.

Two shots hit a 12-year-old girl, Adriana, who later died of her injuries. Three men – Maykil Yokhanna, Benjamin Mahdi and Hassan Mohammad – were charged with having jointly carried out the shooting.

The district court now sentences all three for the murder and also for attempted murder against seven other people who were at the crime scene. The district court has concluded that two of these were the actual targets.

The trio are also convicted of certain other crimes. The punishment is life imprisonment for all three.

The evidence in the case has consisted of a large number of different circumstances which, according to the court, individually point to the fact that it was the accused men who carried out the deed. Among other things, it concerns connections to the weapons and the car that was used, the men's motives, chats and connections with so-called sky phones and subsequent actions where the men ensured that the weapons and the car were cleared away.

– It has been the issue of an indiscriminate fire with automatic weapons in a place where there were several people and one of them died. The punishment cannot therefore be anything other than life imprisonment, says the court's chairman, Chief Councilor Tore Gissin, in a statement.

The sentence also includes charges against four other men who are also convicted of crimes. Among other things, a man is sentenced to two years in prison for gross protection of a criminal.
