TV4 claimed that “personal reasons” were behind Peter Andersson, 68, unexpectedly having to leave the reality show after Monday's episode.
But on Facebook Andersson tells what which actually happened.
“After the first competition, both teams went back to the island in their own boats. I thought Christina in Team South performed really well and praised her but didn't know her name at the time. My teammates wondered who I meant and I then answered 'negress'. Unfortunately,” he writes.
The participant he was referring to, Christina Onuora, tells Aftonbladet that she was “deeply saddened and shocked” that Peter Andersson used this word , which was common when he was younger.
– When you're my age, it's always been a nice word, but it's not today, so I buy it. I have lost myself in this way, says Andersson himself.
Last year it was reported that another participant, Tommie Gyllin, had to leave “Robinson” after saying “Negro hair”:
