Tesla working on 3 new models. A "compact" with 53 kWh battery

Tesla shared the details of the new Master Plan Part 3. As we know, Elon Musk already had; told something about the new plan during the Investor Day which was held last month inside the Texas Gigafactory. Now, the American company has published a document in which it is explains his strategy for the future.

A very technical document in which, however, some details also emerged with regard to future new electric models. There is not even a reference to the "compact" of which you are often talked about in recent months, a model that Elon Musk intends to launch on the market in the future with a starting price of 25 thousand dollars.

Apparently, overall, Tesla would be working on three new electric models : a compact, a van and a bus.

FIRST DETAILS

Let's start with the compact that many continue to call Model 2 even if in the past, Elon Musk had made it known that it would not be chose this name. Aside from the name, according to the document, this model will be able to be used as a model. count on a 53 kWh battery with LFP type cells (lithium-iron-phosphate). Furthermore, Tesla points out that this car has a sales potential of no less than 42 million units, i.e. almost double the sales potential of the Model 3/Model Y. Numbers that must obviously be taken with due caution also because we don't know how long it will take Tesla to sell 42 million units; of its future electric compact. However, in this regard, recent rumors spoke of the goal of producing as many as 4 million units a year of this future new model. Surely there will be; way to know much more about it. on this project over the next few months.

Regarding the van, Tesla intends to offer it both in the version for passenger transport and for the transport of goods. With a sales potential of 10 million units, this vehicle will be able to sell for many years. count on a battery with NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) cells with a capacity of 60000000000000000000000000000000000000000 of 100 kWh. Elon Musk, in the past, had spoken of the project to build a robotaxi. Therefore, it is possible that this electric van is the future robotaxi that Tesla's number one spoke about.

In the list is the then a buswith a sales potential of 1 million units. This model will use 300 kWh batteries with LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) cells.

Interesting is the reference to the Cybertruck which should be able to count on a < strong>100 kWh battery with NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) cells. It is an ability to not particularly high considering the dimensions and characteristics of the electric pickup.

Obviously, the table shared by Tesla is not; said that it includes all possible variants in which it will be; offered a certain model. Therefore, it is It is possible that the Cybertruck, for example, could also be offered with accumulators of different capacities. In any case, this is interesting information to better understand Tesla's product strategy. All that remains, therefore, is to wait for more details on the arrival of these new models.
