Stellantis: seven mobility projects? sustainable with the Turin Polytechnic

The Polytechnic of Turin and Stellantis strengthen their partnership through seven new projects, funded under the d&rsquo protocol agreement signed at the end of 2022. Projects that will focus on the themes of mobility, sustainability and and the circular economy. More specifically, the projects that have formally started concern solutions for mobility; emissions and the reduction of the environmental impact and will see the funding of doctoral scholarships and master's degree theses.

We remind you that the 2022-2026 agreement between Stellantis and the Polytechnic of Turin concerns right on business – of research that will accelerate the development of products for mobility; sustainable in the medium and long term.

THE PROJECTS

Of the seven projects that will be carried out, five concern the development of hybrid and electric vehicles and will deal with innovative batteries< /strong>, design of battery packs for new vehicles, new generation semiconductors for engine electronics, hydrogen storage for cars that use this fuel and solutions to increase the efficiency of small and medium delivery vehicles.

Instead, in the context of reducing the impact of the entire production chain, from raw materials to waste disposal, the projects will concern the capture, accumulation and reuse of CO2 emissions and the definition of the optimal Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The projects have a strongly interdisciplinary approach and will involve multiple students’ departments and Interdepartmental Centers of the Polytechnic. Ned Curic, Chief Technology Officer of Stellantis, commented:
