The government refuses to extradite a terrorist accused to Turkey

The man, who is in his 50s and has Swedish citizenship, has since November 2022 been requested to be extradited to Turkey on suspicion of membership in an armed terrorist organization.

However, the government has decided to reject the request for extradition, citing that the man is a Swedish citizen.

The decision was made during last week's government meeting, according to TT.

At the same time, however, the government grants the extradition of a Turkish citizen who has been sentenced to just over 13 years in prison for fraud and who has also been detained in Sweden.

< p>The Supreme Court has previously approved the extradition of the Turkish citizen, according to TT.
