Foreign. Tomorrow Tuesday, Finland will become a member of NATO, announced President Sauli Niinistö.

Sauli Niinistö is now traveling to Brussels to participate in the official accession ceremony organized at NATO headquarters.
“Finland deposits its instrument of accession to the North Atlantic Treaty with the United States government. The deposit takes place on April 4 in Brussels before the start of the NATO foreign ministers' meeting. The instrument of accession is deposited by Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto,” writes the president's office in a press release.
A flag-raising ceremony to celebrate Finland's NATO membership will be organized at the headquarters after the instrument of accession has been deposited.
