Småland's nation is known for having had a left-wing extremist profile since the 1970s.

The On February 4, the nation organized a brunch, where only “people of color” were welcome and light-skinned people were therefore banned.

The aim was stated to be to give dark-skinned people “healing sessions” in a “safe and welcoming environment”.

Politicians such as Education Minister Mats Persson (L) and the Liberals' opposition leader in Lund municipality, Philip Sandberg, question on Facebook whether it is “really reasonable that activities that base participation on skin color should be paid for with tax money”.

Adam Ståhl, national representative for Småland's Nation, however, replies that separatism is not unusual and that bourgeois criticism is hypocritical.

“The organization Tamam, which the Lunda Liberals' Philip Sandberg himself co-founded, runs, for example, a separatist project for racialized LGBTQ+ people”, he writes in a debate article in Lundagård.
