Ringhals 4 was finally started

Domestic. Vattenfall has started work on restarting Ringhals reactor 4, which has been out of service since the end of August last year but has now been started since Saturday evening.

If everything goes as it should, it is intended that the reactor's turbines will be fully operational from yesterday.

After that, it is estimated to take around 80 hours before the plant is in full operation at full capacity.

Vattenfall plans to continue its electricity production at Ringhals well into the 2040s, with modern technology, higher safety and reduced environmental impact.

Ringhals 3 and Ringhals 4 reactors have half of their possible production ahead of them , with a lifespan of 60 years.

Nuclear power and hydropower are the basis of Sweden's production of electricity and nuclear power is a stable and weather-independent power source, according to Vattenfall.

Ringhals 1 and 2 are shut down after 44 years of fossil-free electricity production. Right now, Ringhals 3 is in normal production, while Ringhals 4 has therefore been shut down for repair work.
