Media. It is no longer possible to comment on posts from SVT Nyheter on Twitter. SVT justifies its decision with reference to “disturbing reports” of “misinformation and offensive posts” under Elon Musk's ownership.

In a blog post, the head of the news division Anne writes Lagercrantz about SVT's decision and the alleged development on Twitter:
“When we evaluate our presence on social media, we want to lower the priority on Twitter. Or rather – we don't want to put more effort into Twitter. During our publications it happens all too often that victims of crime are named or mocked, and that the comments are sexist or racist. This should be seen against the background of worrying reports about the evolution of the platform, where ambitions to combat misinformation and offensive posts have been rapidly abandoned. We have not rather, the possibility to remove individual comments during our publications on Twitter.”
However, SVT currently has no plans to take its accounts on the platform completely.
“Despite the negative downsideswe see that there is a news and social interest on the platform. In that function, SVT Nyheter has a role,” writes Anne Lagercrantz.
