Humza Yousaf has been appointed as the new party leader for the ruling Scottish party SNP and will thus succeed Nicola Sturgeon as Prime Minister.

The 37-year-old Muslim, who is now Minister of Health, states that he wants to work for Scottish so-called independence with re-entry into the EU.

The situation within the SNP has been messy since party leader Nicola Sturgeon announced last month that she would be stepping down after nine years. Her husband, party secretary Peter Murrell, also resigned on March 18 after a scandal.

Great Britain has had an Indian prime minister, Rishi Sunak, since last autumn.
