Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) is upset that Hungary has announced that it will handle Finland's NATO application separately from the Swedish application.

In the governing party Fidesz, there is still no agreement on how to deal with Sweden in this matter, reports SVT Nyheter.

Ulf Kristersson believes that the new message goes directly against what Hungary previously communicated.

p>- I will of course raise the matter with Orbán, he says.

What Kristersson wants to know specifically is “for what reason they choose to separate Sweden from Finland”.

Now Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's political chief Balázs Orbán gives the 59-year-old Swedish liberal a speech.

“The Swedish prime minister asks what problems the Hungarian members of parliament have. Let me help you understand with some examples,” he writes on Twitter.

Orbán mentions several quotes from Ulf Kristersson himself and other representatives of the Swedish government.

On March 3, 2021, Kristersson wrote on Facebook that it was now up to the EU to “get tough on the Hungarian government” and support the “increasingly strong” left-liberal opposition in the country.

Another Orbán cites is current EU minister Jessika Roswall (M), who in June 2021 demanded that the EU act decisively to cut off payments of funds to Hungary to punish the country's right-wing government.

He mentions also a quote from the L leader and current labor market and integration minister Johan Pehrson from May 2022:

“Hungary's xenophobic and nationalist government continues to violate the principles of the rule of law and waver in support for Ukraine.”
