Continued chaos in Paris ahead of pension reform

Foreign. French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 has thrown France into a wave of protests. In the capital Paris there is now total chaos.

Riot police used water cannons and tear gas against the thousands of demonstrators.

They set fire to garbage cans, and the police used tear gas. So far, nine people have been arrested there.

The protests already started at 7 p.m. in the southern part of Paris, according to Le Monde's live reporting.

A hundred police officers and probably 4,000 demonstrators were on the scene , writes BFM TV.

In Bordeaux, the protesters clashed with the police at 5 p.m.
