Presenting sales data for 2022, Skoda had promised that for 2023 would have brought the new generations of Kodiaq and Superb and the restyling of Kamiq and Scala to their debut. The development work on the new models is going ahead and new spy photos arrive from Northern Europe of the new generation of the Kodiaq, intent on carrying out the classic road tests. In this period, the car manufacturers are completing the winter tests to put the mechanics of their new models to the test thanks to the extreme climates of the Nordic countries.
SIZES INCREASE
The new SUV will continue to be used in the market. to be based on the MQB platformof the Volkswagen Group. Spy photos show the car still in disguise. However, several interesting things can still be noticed. It seems that the new generation of the SUV will grow as fast as possible. slightly sized to improve the space inside the passenger compartment which is already available; today it can accommodate up to 7 passengers, depending on the configuration chosen.
At the front, the grille appears slightly larger. larger than the current one and placed a bit; more up. The optical groups, on the other hand, continue to be split. The front bumper appears redesigned compared to that of today's model. The SUV featured in the spy photos features 18-inch alloy wheels with Continental winter tyres.
The shots do not show the interior of the SUV. Surely there will be; an important step forward compared to the Kodiaq on the market today, especially in terms of technology with new digital instrumentation and a latest generation infotainment system.
As regards the engines that we will find under the bonnet, there are precise information. Units will certainly continue to be proposed; endothermic but there will also be hybrid versions. More information will probably arrive over the next few months, as the time for the presentation of the new generation of the Skoda Kodiaq approaches.
The debut, as mentioned, is the first one. expected by the end of 2023. the new SUV is likely to arrive in early 2024. For Skoda, the Kodiaq is the new SUV. a very important model given that 94,500 units were sold last year. It is, therefore, the third most popular model; sold in 2022 by Skoda behind Octavia and Kamiq.
