Which parking apps with CarPlay are there? Which apps come in handy when looking for a parking space? There are even apps with which you can easily pay for parking on the street via the CarPlay screen.
There are all kinds of parking apps available for the iPhone, with which you can start a parking action in an instant and pay for a parking session, whether on the street or in a parking garage. But it is of course even easier if you can pay for parking via your CarPlay screen. Fortunately, that is possible, although the offer is very scanty. Nevertheless, there are apps for CarPlay that can come in handy when parking. We've collected them for you in this guide.

EasyPark: pay for street parking in the Netherlands and Europe via CarPlay
There are a number of parking apps with CarPlay, but they are not always usable in the Netherlands or Europe. EasyPark is the only one with CarPlay that you can use in the Netherlands as well as in neighboring countries in Europe. Once you have found a parking spot, open the EasyPark app on your CarPlay screen and select the correct parking zone. The app uses your location for this and shows the parking zones in the area. Unfortunately, it is necessary to immediately choose an end time, but fortunately you can easily extend it from your iPhone (or from the CarPlay screen).
When you get back to the car, all you have to do is reconnect your iPhone to CarPlay and launch the EasyPark app on your CarPlay screen. There you can easily stop your parking action, so that you do not pay too much. On the screen you will then see an overview of how long you have parked, including the final amount. Your parking action can also easily be found afterwards in the EasyPark app on the iPhone.
Paying for parking via the CarPlay app works with your linked payment method. EasyPark also supports Apple Pay, so you can simply pay for your parking with an Apple Pay credit card. The regular debit card is not supported via Apple Pay at EasyPark.
Attention:There are currently two EasyPark apps available: the original EasyPark app (with CarPlay support) and the former Parkmobile app which is now also called EasyPark. Parkmobile was recently taken over by EasyPark, but there are now two separate apps available. If you want to park via CarPlay, choose the original EasyPark app via the download link below. Eventually, the two apps will be merged.
PayByPhone: parking via Siri
Although PayByPhone does not have its own CarPlay app, you can use it through CarPlay. The app has extensive support for Siri Shortcuts. In the PayByPhone app you can easily create a Siri command to start, view and stop a parking action. Once you have set this up, you can also activate it via CarPlay with your chosen Siri command. The assistant then only asks what the location number is and you're done. Unfortunately, you cannot start your parking action on the CarPlay screen itself, but you also do not have to take your iPhone out of your pocket.
Find a parking space: your favorite navigation app
Many navigation apps for CarPlay offer an option to quickly find and navigate to parking lots or parking garages. You still have to pay for your parking space yourself (or, for example, with a parking app for the iPhone), but you can simply navigate to it via CarPlay. In Apple Maps there is a shortcut to parking garages and parking lots, so you can see where there are parking spaces nearby. Unfortunately, you cannot see whether there are still spaces available, but it does help you, for example, to find a parking garage in a strange city.

SpotHero: for when you're in the US
SpotHero is a well-known parking app for North America and can therefore not be used in the Netherlands or Europe. But if you are in the US (for a longer period of time), then the app is worth considering. SpotHero also has a nice CarPlay app, with which you can search for parking spaces and garages in the area and immediately start the payment via the CarPlay app. However, you must be logged in to the iPhone app in advance and have added a valid payment method there. You can even reserve a parking space and navigate to it via Apple Maps or Google Maps.
