Only just under 1,500 of roughly 30,000 Ukrainians of working age have found work through the Employment Service.

Although there are no statistics on how many have found work on their own, a survey by the organization Ukrainian Professional Support Center shows that almost seven out of ten Ukrainians in Sweden, people are unemployed, despite the fact that nine out of ten say they want a job.

The employment agency was commissioned by the government to inform the refugees about the job market in Sweden, but many of them still do not know about the agency.

Ukrainians who come to Sweden are not registered in the national register and thus do not receive a social security number, which makes it difficult for them to obtain a bank account and bank ID. They also cannot be offered internships because they lack the required insurance cover.
