Mitsubishi, 16 new models in the next 5 years

Mitsubishi presented the new plan "Challenge 2025" which illustrated its growth strategy in the coming years. In terms of product, the automaker plans to focus more and more on the product. towards the electrification of its range of cars. Specifically, over the next 5 years, the Japanese manufacturer plans to launch 16 new models on the market, 9 of which are electrified (including 100% electric).

For its new products, the automaker will take advantage of the also synergies with the Alliance. As we have seen recently, for the European market, Mitsubishi has developed the new ASX and Colt starting from the bases of the Renault Captur and Clio.

NEW MODELS COMING SOON

By analyzing more in detail the roadmap of the upcoming products, thanks to the slides of the presentation of the new business plan, we can already; give us a very first idea of ​​some of the models that will debut in the coming years. Some, in fact, are already; make yourself explicit. For example, it is the PHEV version of the new Outlander is arriving for the European market. Thanks to the synergies of the Alliance, it will debut in also the heir of the ASX which will be; offered with electrified powertrains since, as mentioned at the beginning, it is only possible based on the Renault Captur. Two kei-cars are also planned, but obviously not for the Old Continent market.

According to the roadmap of the new models, it is necessary to have a new model. the launch of a new pickup is also expected. By 2030, the Japanese brand hopes to have half the of its global sales represented by electrified cars. In 2035, the Japanese company plans to reach a 100% share.


To advance the electrification plan, Mitsubishi will invest in around 1.5 billion euros in battery procurement. There is talk of reaching a supply of 15 GWh per year by the end of the decade. Thanks to the progressive expansion of the range of electrified cars, the Japanese brand will be able to; get to reduce CO2 emissions from new cars by 40% by 2030, compared to 2010.
