Domestic. A man in his 30s has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after several frauds against the elderly in several places in Stockholm.

During the summer of 2022, the police drew attention to how a series of frauds with a similar approach had taken place against the elderly in various parts of Stockholm.
The common denominator was that the fraudster pretended to be a police officer. The man called elderly people and misled them. He made the elderly believe that an unknown person had tried to buy goods using the elderly's personal information.
Then the man visited the victims in their homes, where they handed over bank cards and codes in the belief that the fake policeman would help them. On five occasions, the claimants handed over bank cards and codes, which the man used to withdraw money from ATMs.
