Endorfy Thock TKL Wireless: Wireless and mechanical keyboard under 100 euros

Endorfy offers mechanical wireless keyboards in three formats for less than 100 euros: The new models in the Thock series are available in full format, as a tenkeyless version and in the even tighter 75% format . A catch can be the layout.

Which buttons are available depends on the model. All keyboards are offered with Kailh Box Red, the full-size version also with Box Brown, the two more compact versions with Box Black. Box switches correspond to the standard versions in terms of tuning, but have an IP56 certification and should therefore have less play on the stamp. Red models are linear and smooth-running, black ones are linear and a bit stiffer, brown ones have a pressure point.

In addition, the buttons on the thock are hot-swappable. Both models with three and five pins are supported. The manufacturer stores the key puller required for removal on the underside of the keyboard, where there is a recess for storing the tool. In each version, Endorgy also uses PBT keycaps with translucent double-shot lettering and mandatory RGB lighting.

Important information missing

In the 75% and full-size versions, Endorfy also adds a rotary control to the equipment list. Further additional functions for controlling the lighting as well as media functions, among other things, are placed on the FN level.

Data transmission via cable is possible with the wireless models, but is optional. In addition, the keyboards transmit to a 2.4 GHz receiver or via Bluetooth, a mode switch is on the right flank of the Thock models. The data sheets do not state which version of the Bluetooth protocol is used. Endorgy leaves just as open in many flowery formulations how long the keyboard can be operated wirelessly. A particularly long term can therefore hardly be assumed.

US layout is the hook

At prices of 80 or 93 euros for the full-format version, which Endorgy is currently asking for directly from Amazon (full-format, TKL, 75% layout), this is tolerable, because wireless mechanical keyboards are rarely found in this price segment, especially with similar features. The catch, however, is the layout: Endorgy does not have an ISO DE version with a large input key; the Thock Wireless, like the wired Thock offshoots, are currently only sold on the German market in the US ANSI layout. This will reduce the unit price due to larger quantities, but will not suit every user.
