With the Speak2 75, Speak2 55 and Speak2 40, Jabra is introducing three new hands-free devices that are intended to do better justice to the hybrid working world with a mixture of virtual conferences and on-site meetings Compared to the Speak 750, Jabra quadruples the number of microphones.
The new Speak2 series should not only improve the transmission quality of the speech, but also the playback. The Jabra Speak2 75 in particular should therefore also be able to serve as a loudspeaker for media playback when no conference is being held. In recent years, Jabra has primarily seen a development from the conference speaker as a common device to the conference speaker as a personal device, for example in the home office.
Voice Level normalization and beamforming
Above all, the Speak2 models are intended to ensure that all voices in the room are transmitted intelligibly, so that even in hybrid meetings for remote participants, nothing is lost from the discussion. All three new models also have “Voice Level Normalization” to adjust the volume of the voices and beamforming microphones. All models are suitable for UC meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco and Google Meet and are protected against dust and splash water according to IP64.
Jabra Speak2 75 with 4 mics and voice quality analysis
The flagship of the Speak2 series is the Jabra Speak2 75. Only this model has an additional microphone quality indicator, which gives the user a visual indication of how good the transmission quality is at the moment. A 360-degree light ring is installed for this purpose, which changes its color from green to orange when the voice quality is poor. Four beamforming loudspeakers are to ensure that speech is easy to understand, four times as many as in the predecessor, the Speak 750. A broadband loudspeaker with a diameter of 65 mm is used for playback. The Speak2 75 can be connected to desktop PCs and notebooks either via USB or Bluetooth. The latter also supports Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair. Jabra states that the battery life via Bluetooth is up to 32 hours, which is almost three times as long as the Speak 750. The cable offers an integrated USB-A to USB-C adapter.

Different from the Speak 750 However, the Speak2 75 no longer offers a kickstand, but should only be operated lying down, as it is no longer necessary to align the conference speaker with the speaker. In addition, daisy chaining is no longer possible for operation as a stereo pair.
The Speak2 75 will be available from the end of March at a suggested retail price of 339 euros.
Speak2 55 for half price
< p class="p text-width">Not only does the Speak2 55 have to do without the voice quality display, but the broadband speaker is also smaller with a diameter of 50 mm. However, it can also be connected via USB or Bluetooth. Jabra states that the cheaper model has a battery life of up to 12 hours.
The suggested retail price of the Jabra Speak2 55 is 169 euros. It should also be available in stores from the end of March 2023.
Speak2 40 does not have Bluetooth
The Speak2 40 also relies on a 50 mm driver, but cannot be operated wirelessly via Bluetooth, but only via USB, so that there is no internal battery. It is the only model that does not use aluminum for the housing of the conference speakers. The recommended retail price for the Jabra Speak2 40 is 149 euros, and it will also be available in stores from the end of March.
