Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro

The Xiaomi 13 Pro contains the 1-inch Sony IMX989 known from the 12S Ultra with 50 MP and a pixel size of 1.6 μm or 3.2 μm after 4-to-1 binning, f/1.9, 23 mm focal length and OIS . This time there is also a sensor with 50 MP resolution at 75 mm focal length, f/2.0 and with OIS as a telephoto lens and for portrait shots. Another 50 MP at f/2.2 and a focal length of 14 mm are available for the ultra-wide-angle camera.

The Xiaomi 13 uses the 54MP (50MP effective) Sony IMX800 as its primary sensor with 1/1.49in and 1.0μm (native, 2.0μm after binning) pixels at a 23mm focal length with f/1.8 and OIS. A fixed focal length of 75 mm, 10 MP at 1.0 μm, f/2.0 and with OIS is used as a telephoto lens and for portrait shots. A 15 mm lens is used for ultra wide-angle photos with 12 MP.

If you switch to the Pro mode of the camera app on both smartphones, all parameters can be set manually and Take 10-bit RAW photos. The video mode is basically up to 8K, but Dolby Vision and LOG recordings with a maximum of 60 FPS are only possible with 4K.

The Xiaomi 13 Lite does without the Leica cooperation, but the primary camera also achieves 50 MP on a 1/1.56" large Sony IMX766, which is supplemented by three more cameras with 8 MP for ultra wide-angle photos, 2 MP for macro photos and another 8 MP for capturing depth information in portrait shots.

120Hz OLED screens for all models

Visually, the 13 Pro and 13 differ in the shape derived from the display. The Xiaomi 13 uses a flat screen with 6.36 inches, the frame around the smartphone is correspondingly straight and is somewhat reminiscent of the current iPhone models. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is 6.73 inches and has slightly curved edges on the left and right, so the case has been adjusted accordingly. The Xiaomi 13 achieves 1,080 × 2,400 pixels, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro has 1,440 × 3,200 pixels. Both LTPO OLED screens operate at up to 120 Hz, 1,200 cd/m², 1,900 cd/m² peak, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and use Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. The entire smartphone protects IP68, but the 13 Lite is an exception here, which comes with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz, but only a maximum of 1,000 cd/m². Only the 13 Lite hides two LEDs above the display for brighter selfies.

Fast loading and fast chips

The batteries measure 4,500 mAh for the Xiaomi 13 and 4,820 mAh for the Xiaomi 13 Pro and can be charged with 67 watts or 120 watts. Both variants support wireless charging with 50 watts when using a Xiaomi charging cradle and 10 watts for charging in the opposite direction. The 13 Lite does not require wireless charging, and its 4,500 mAh battery can also be charged with 67 watts.

What's under the hood is largely identical. Both flagships use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, for which the editors have already been able to run benchmarks that certify the chip has more CPU and, above all, more GPU performance. In the configurations intended for Germany, the chip is combined with 12 GB (13 Pro) or 8 GB (13) LPDDR5X-8533 and 256 GB UFS 4.0 each. For the 13 Lite, Xiaomi relies on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 from Samsung's 4 nm production instead of TSMC's and halves the memory to 128 GB according to the UFS 2.2 standard. RAM remains at 8GB.

For the two more expensive smartphones, Xiaomi promises three Android main versions up to and including Android 16 and five years of Android security updates, for the 13 Lite there is no information.
